AmericanMoversDirect.com is a ripoff moving company. I will explain why I feel this way in intricate detail.
First, they claim to be located in Wyoming at the following address: 5830 E 2ND ST, STE 7000 #7801 Casper, WY 82609 However, the Better Business Bureau has no record of said company. Even after I told this company that I would go to Wyoming at this address, they said there is no one ever there. They said they are just brokers. I came upon this company by doing a search on the internet. I called their 800 number and spoke to one of their representatives for about n hour. We negotiated a charge of a little over $4000 for what would amount to a 26 foot truck, this charge included a couple of people to take my possesions out of a storage unit and then transport them to Oklahoma. I took a picture of a check for 1/2 the amount and sent him a picture of it. Something I shouldn't have done. I believed the man at his word. He sent me an econtract which I signed. I had a very bad cold at the time, and didn't notice that what he really wrote was for the moving of only 824 cubic feet, a lot less than the verbal agreement. He said that I would hear from this company for a few days. I was going to drive back to Colorado to meet their driver and helpers to load the truck and let them in my storage unit. I thought something was strange when I was texted by another person, who wanted to go over my inventory. Why would they want to do that, when I had already intrically discussed this with the initial contact. I told them I wanted my money back, as this wasn't what we had discussed, they said no. They gave me an email address to cancel the order, something I did, but I never heard back from that either. Then I get contacted by some driver who I couldn't understand do to bad english. I told him I cancelled the order. I have since contacted the Attorney General for The State of Wyoming via an online form. I still haven't heard from that either. So I'm out over $2000 and don't expect to see it. So keep away from this company, they have no customer service, may not even be a real company, and they just take peoples money. |
